While using the iPad or monitor for backlighting is a speedy solution, it yields poor results. I took a white Tupperware like lid and placed it over flexible desk light, place the negative on top, and used the app to capture the picture. Clearest yet! You can pinch to zoom to see how much better it is. So a diy light box
Had a bunch of old slides of my wife (sadly, she died in 2011) hiking Colorado. The $49 hardware and app worked great with my iPhone 7+! Easy editing too. Love, love, love it—thank you for an awesome device & app!
