I bought this app because i have a camera with several lenses and I wanted to know when each lens would be usable without pulling up my camera. It works well for that purpose but you do have to have some understanding of photography and understanding of how lenses work to use it that way. If you have that and you don't mind carrying your iphone or iPad around wherever you're shooting it works.
Great app, does all as advertised. I really like the simplicity and a lack of arbitrary limits to shutter speeds or apertures. No more getting a reading and then calculating beyond meter limits. Great for long exposures, and great for pinhole photography too as tiny apertures are supported too (all the way down to f/1024). Thanks for a great simple powerful app!
This is an awesome option for anyone looking for a Light Meter it is very accurate when compared side-by-side with a $300+ option. Great work
I was so grateful to find this particular light meter for natural light photography. My “professional fancy” lightmeter seems not to work as well (consistently) as this iOS app does on my iPhone SE. It is not meant to register settings for flash, but works well with spots and other continuous lighting. I take samples all around in contrasty situations and make an educated guess for averaging the exposure. I wish it worked on my iPad as well, but, C'est la vie!
This app hasn’t been updated in three years. The camera lens won’t view forward. Only views in selfie direction mode. Useless.
If you want an accurate meter with you at all times but don't want to carry one with you or if you forgot yours at home then this is the app you want. Readings are quite accurate, they have never let me down. Only thing G I wish it had was a Spot reading option. It's well worth what I paid.
I find this app to be very intuitive, I also find it to be very close in accuracy to my Sekonic L398! I have used it with my Mamiya C330 and RB67 the result have been spot on!
Great job Dave. I really like how everything is right in front of you and adjustable based on the available light. You can even change the settings depending on the equipment you have. I have been looking for something like this for a while now. Saved few hundred dollars by not spending money on actual light meter. Thank you.
I love this app. It is accurate and when needed for some situations, like shooting on snow, the meter can be biased to account for that condition. Used in conjunction with a gray card this is super handy, also you can see all the exposure combinations to aid in the decision making process.
Could not be happier. Beautifilly designed and implemented with real-time exposure updates. As accurate but more convenient than my pro meter.
Try this new light meter concept for iOS7, it merges the new customization idea by Apple and my original light meter concept which has already been imitated. Why choosing modes, apertures or speeds if you can have them all right up front? • ISO from 3 to 6400. • Speeds from 1/8000 to 4 hours!! • Apertures from f/0.7 to f/1024!! • Exposure timer for pinhole cameras. • Awesome light metering precision from -2EV to 21! • Hold the readings and get them spoken! • Front camera for incident light metering. • Customize the app simply by choosing a picture from your gallery. • Calibration. any doubts?
